bids are now open for <B>$1500 AUD bursary</B> which the association will award to <BR>
<B>a project designed to further the practice of Cultural Studies in either <BR>
Australia or New Zealand </B>(preferably both).<BR>
<BR>
Examples of activities the bursary might support include: the development of <BR>
a CS publication, the promotion of CS in the public domain, the development <BR>
of inter-institutional and international CS links, the hosting of a CS <BR>
conference involving two or more institutions etc.<BR>
<BR>
Our preference will be for 1) projects that strengthen connections between <BR>
New Zealand and Australian Cultural studies and 2) projects that involve <BR>
early career researchers, postgrads and/or scholars without institutional <BR>
support. The project should occur in the twelve months following the award <BR>
of the bursary (though special cases will be considered).<BR>
<BR>
Interested applicants should submit a 2 page proposal, comprising a 1 page <BR>
description and a 1 page budget. The description should give a clear <BR>
indication of the nature of the project, its participants and expected <BR>
outcomes. The budget should itemize all financial inputs and expenditures – <BR>
even if still provisional - for the project as a whole. Applicants must be <BR>
members of the CSAA.<BR>

executive, and the winning application announced at <I>Sustaining Culture</I>, this <BR>
year’s annual conference, at UNISA, December 4-6, 2007.<BR>

The executive reserves the right to defer the bursary if no suitable <BR>
proposals are submitted.<BR>
