and prospective future crises in water supply and allocation is something of
concern to most people in the community. Mostly we hear from scientists,
ecologists, engineers and politicians about water, with much
</SPAN>Australian research on water users investigating the attitudes and
socio-demographic characteristics of individuals, usually with a view to
changing or predicting individual behaviour. <SPAN
class=453032406-21062007>But researchers in the humanities and social sciences
are contributing to innovative responses - in </SPAN>investigating water use and
water-related issues from cultural or sociotechnical perspectives, and/or with
strong concerns for the cultural dimensions of water practices, ownership,
technologies, uses and values. </FONT><FONT face=Arial><STRONG><EM><FONT
color=#000080 size=2>In the Pipeline</FONT></EM></STRONG><FONT color=#000080
size=2> will bring together for the first time these dispersed researchers in a
unique interdisciplinary gathering. </FONT></FONT></P></DIV>
