<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Call For Papers: </FONT><A HREF="http://www.unisa.edu.au/educationalintegrity/conference/"><U><FONT COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Times New Roman">Asia Pacific Conference on Educational Integrity 2007</FONT></U></A><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> </FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">The<B> Asia-Pacific Conference on Educational Integrity: Creating a culture of integrity</B> will be held at the University of South Australia from 6-7 December 2007. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">While previous conferences have focussed on specific issues relating to educational integrity such as plagiarism and values in teaching and learning, the 2007 conference aims to examine the broader educational context. Participants will be asked to consider the questions: </FONT></P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Who is responsible for educational integrity? Is it students, educators, administrators, senior managers or policy makers? </FONT></P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">How can a culture of integrity be created so that the current model of ‘police action’ is replaced by self-regulation and mutual respect? </FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Themes</FONT></B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">will include: </FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- policy changes and reform in education </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- commercialisation of education </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- internationalisation of education </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- ethics in research and publishing </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- issues of governance and managerialism </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- quality assurance and educational integrity </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- implications of the Research Quality Framework </FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- issues in learning and teaching </FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">A pre-conference workshop will be held on 5 December 2007 to enable Academic Integrity Officers (and their equivalent positions) from Australian and international universities to network and share ideas on best practice.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Authors are invited to submit the following types of papers to the conference:</FONT>
</P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Full papers</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> for double-blind review (see Submission Guidelines available from conference call for papers webite: </FONT><A HREF="http://www.unisa.edu.au/educationalintegrity/conference/papercall.asp"><U><FONT COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Times New Roman">http://www.unisa.edu.au/educationalintegrity/conference/papercall.asp</FONT></U></A><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">). Accepted papers will be published in the refereed stream of the Conference Proceedings. </FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Abstracts</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> to be reviewed by the Conference Committee. Accepted Abstracts will be published in the unrefereed stream of the Conference Proceedings. </FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Creative works</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> (45 minute sessions)</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Interactive workshops</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- small interactive group workshops of around 12-20 participants</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- 45 minutes total, with the speaker/facilitator using no more than 10 minutes to define the topic and context</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- 35 minutes for discussion, interaction and input from the participants.</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">- Suggestions for material: current dilemmas, ideas in progress, vexing issues and common problems relating to educational integrity. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Other ideas</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Presenters are invited to contribute ideas for other interactive sessions. This may be an electronic poster session, group presentation, debate or ‘dilemma’ roundtable discussion (where presenters simply raise a question or problem and ask participants to address it, using their expertise and experience). </FONT></P>
