Sanctuary and Security seminar series
will begin with a forum on Gender, Race and Public Space at the <st1:PlaceType

<st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Sydney</st1:place></st1:City>
on
Thursday 23 March. The forum brings together a range of perspectives
and
experiences on questions of gender, religion, racism and public space
with a
particular focus on Muslim women in contemporary <st1:country-region
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Australia</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
Speakers will address
issues such as: <o:p></o:p></span></p>

and discrimination directed at Muslim women during the ‘war on terror’ <o:p></o:p></span></li>

The seminar series will include diverse disciplinary

paradigms of engagement and learning for

St</st1:address></st1:Street>, Ultimo, very close to Central railway
station.
After alighting at Central Station take the eastern exits to <st1:Street
w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Railway Square/George Street</st1:address></st1:Street>.
Turn left
at <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Railway Square</st1:address></st1:Street>
and walk one block to the intersection with <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address
w:st="on">Harris St</st1:address></st1:Street>. To reach Building 4,
turn
right (north) into <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Harris
St</st1:address></st1:Street>
