of Language, Literature and Performing Arts at the University of Otago in
Dunedin, New Zealand, from Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4, 2006. </DIV>

topics that shed light on the question of space, both in its first and in its
succeeding moments, in its many incarnations and representations, and from a
variety of perspectives in literature and the arts, sociology, history and
politics, philosophy, archaeology and cultural studies. These topics might
